As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming environment for all. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible throughout the campus, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post, where you will contribute to a caring and reliable team that values integrity and innovation every day.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least six months of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A security guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the educational location in a calm, problem-solving manner while following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus buildings and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activities, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Collaborate with campus personnel and Allied Universal management to address security-related concerns and support a positive campus environment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs and incident reports as required by site procedures.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances, verifying identification as needed, and helping to direct visitors to appropriate areas.
