About The Position

As a Security Officer - Driver Rover Patrol in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading tech data center location as an unarmed Patrol Officer, where you will complete routine rounds, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support teams and visitors with professional customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in the job state. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, contractors, and/or visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, and site-specific policies.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, data halls, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or irregular conditions.
  • Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and directing traffic flow according to site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or service requests in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to appropriate contacts and/or emergency services when required by protocol.
  • Complete timely documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift handoff notes using site tools and/or standard report formats.
