Job Description As a Security Officer - Driver Entry Control in Evansville, IN , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and communicate clearly with team members, drivers, and visitors. You will stay visible, complete routine patrols, document incidents, and support a welcoming experience while helping reduce security-related issues. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under Allied Universal driver policy requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at entry and exit points by verifying identification, managing visitor and vendor check-in and/or check-out, issuing badges when authorized, and maintaining access logs.
  • Coordinate with site personnel to manage truck and trailer traffic flow, confirm scheduled appointments and/or required documentation, and direct drivers to designated areas in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and escalating concerns through the proper chain of command.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including docks, gates, and perimeter points, while monitoring for conditions that may help to deter unauthorized activity.
