As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet team members and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, and support orderly traffic flow for people and vehicles. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with site leadership. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license and meeting Allied Universal driver policy requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at gates, guard shacks, and/or entry points by verifying identification and authorization for employees, visitors, and drivers; issue temporary credentials as directed and maintain accurate logs.
  • Screen and direct inbound and outbound traffic including delivery vehicles and trailers by checking paperwork, seals, and/or load information as required by post orders, and report discrepancies to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and escalating to the appropriate contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, staging areas, docks, parking lots, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report maintenance and policy concerns.
