About The Position

As a Security Officer - Distribution Facility Screener in Hagerstown, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help support daily operations by screening people and items entering the facility, maintaining a visible presence, and completing clear, accurate reports. You will communicate with team members and site leaders, provide strong customer service, and respond to security-related concerns as they arise. Requirements

  • A guard card and/or security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and drivers at entry points by verifying identification, authorizations, and delivery or pickup documentation in accordance with site guidelines.
  • Conduct security-related screening of bags, packages, and other items as permitted, and report prohibited items and/or policy violations through the established chain of command.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including escalating concerns to site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the building, dock areas, and perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
