Job Description As a Security Officer - Distribution Center - Warehouse in Rockford, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help manage site entry points, greet drivers and visitors, verify credentials, and support trailer and dock activity through clear communication and detailed reporting. You will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents while delivering customer service that reflects Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification and/or shipping documentation, issuing visitor credentials, and directing drivers and visitors to appropriate check-in areas.
• Monitor inbound and outbound traffic flow, including contractor and carrier arrivals, to help support orderly yard and dock operations while following site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services per post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the building, parking areas, trailer lots, and perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
