As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and complete routine patrols to help identify and report security-related concerns. You will stay visible, communicate clearly with team members and visitors, and support smooth operations through accurate documentation. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and associates by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access to the facility by verifying identification, checking in and/or checking out employees, contractors, and delivery personnel, and maintaining visitor and vehicle logs.
  • Screen inbound and outbound traffic at gates and dock areas, confirm scheduled deliveries and pickups, and coordinate with site contacts to help reduce unauthorized entry and/or property removal.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and notifying the appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouse areas, loading docks, parking areas, and the perimeter, noting irregular activity and reporting maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
