Job Description As a Security Officer - Distribution Access Control in Decatur, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols and provide outstanding customer service and communication to all personnel. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct screening of personnel, packages, and/or vehicles entering the logistics and distribution location to help to deter unauthorized access or prohibited items.
  • Follow site-specific policies and procedures to carry out security-related tasks and assist with access control.
  • Provide customer service to staff and visitors by addressing questions and assisting with directions or procedures as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of screening activities, incidents, and observations as required by Allied Universal and the client site.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuations or other site-specific procedures.
