Requirements

• An Armed Guard Card or license is required.
• A Corrections Officer License is required.
• A Law Enforcement Officer License is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Handcuffing Certification is preferred.
• Handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and security-related responses appropriate for a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts, supervisors, and/or emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, offices, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and help to deter unauthorized access or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and public-facing spaces, verifying credentials, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and reporting policy violations or maintenance concerns.
• Support emergency and routine operations by following post orders, preparing clear reports, and maintaining readiness to assist with security-related issues in a professional manner.
