About The Position

As a Security Officer - Data Center Patrol in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a food and beverage location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support employees, visitors, and drivers with clear communication, report concerns, and document activities. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a food and beverage production and distribution location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, access issues, and suspicious activity, and notify site leadership and/or local authorities as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, warehouses, cold storage areas, offices, parking areas, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards and maintenance concerns.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification and/or authorizations, managing visitor and contractor check-in, and directing deliveries to approved docks and staging areas.
  • Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation, monitor assigned cameras and/or alarm panels when available, and communicate significant observations to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
