Job Description As a Security Officer - Data Center Patrol in Sioux Falls, SD , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a fast-paced tech, media, and telecom location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with employees and visitors, document observations, and respond to issues with a customer-service mindset. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a tech, media, and/or telecom location.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, offices, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, verifying authorization, and directing visitors to the appropriate areas per site procedures.
Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or access control systems when assigned, and report irregularities according to post orders.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from site leadership and/or public emergency services as needed.
Complete detailed written reports of daily activity, incidents, and observations, and communicate relevant information during shift briefings and/or post transitions.
Provide escorts for visitors, contractors, and/or employees when requested and authorized, including after-hours access support.
Assist with traffic and pedestrian flow during peak arrivals, departures, and special events, helping to reduce congestion and support orderly operations.
Perform routine checks of doors, gates, critical rooms, and loading areas to help to deter unauthorized entry and to identify maintenance concerns for reporting.
Support emergency procedures such as evacuations, severe weather actions, and medical response by following site directions and documenting actions taken.
