Job Description As a Security Officer - Credential Screening in Freeport, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue and track badges, and monitor activity using computers and/or tablets. You will complete routine patrols, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver customer-focused communication with employees, contractors, and visitors. At Allied Universal, you will support a caring, agile team that acts with integrity and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have customer service experience preferred.
  • Have access control and/or badge experience preferred.
  • Have a state, county, or city issued security license preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, including verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing individuals to authorized areas.
  • Monitor entry and exit points at a chemical and petrochemical location, maintain access logs, and support vehicle screening and/or delivery check-in per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating emergency response activities and notifying appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct security-related screening of packages, tools, and materials as required, and report suspicious activity and/or policy violations according to site procedures.
  • Perform regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by site area and operational activity.
