Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location in New York City, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and assist staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have 1+ years of security experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma/GED as required by the client.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior areas, building entrances, common spaces, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Control access points by checking identification, issuing visitor credentials, directing foot traffic, and supporting orderly entry and exit during peak periods.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other site systems when assigned, and report unusual conditions according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calling for medical, fire, and/or law enforcement assistance when appropriate.
  • Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity in written reports and/or electronic logs with clear, timely, and accurate information.
  • Support government office operations by providing directions, answering general questions, and assisting with queue management while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Communicate and coordinate with site representatives and Allied Universal supervision regarding policy questions, post updates, and security-related concerns.
  • Participate in required briefings, training, and post inspections, and follow established procedures for key control, equipment use, and evidence handling when applicable.
