About The Position

As a Security Officer - Controlled Entry in Kansas City, MO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, check credentials, track visitors and deliveries, and support orderly traffic flow for associates and drivers. You will stay visible, conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with site leadership. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control entry and exit at designated access points by verifying identification, checking credentials, and directing visitors, drivers, and contractors according to site requirements.
  • Manage inbound and outbound traffic flow by coordinating with yard personnel, monitoring dock and gate activity, and helping to maintain orderly movement of trucks and deliveries.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations through established channels.
  • Complete required documentation such as visitor logs, trailer and seal checks, delivery appointment records, and incident reports, and communicate updates to site leadership as appropriate.
