As a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet associates and visitors, verify access, conduct entry screening, and document activity using a computer and/or tablet. You will stay visible, communicate clearly, and help reduce security-related issues through consistent procedures and strong customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, supported by Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, people-first, integrity-driven teamwork.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to guests, drivers, and employees by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen people, vehicles, and deliveries at designated entry points by checking identification, confirming authorization, and verifying shipping and/or receiving documentation per site procedures.
  • Operate screening equipment and/or conduct visual inspections of bags, parcels, and loads as required, escalating prohibited items or irregularities according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services and completing required reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, docks, trailer yards, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized access and to identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
