The Security Officer observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, ensuring the security and safety of client property and personnel. The role involves making periodic tours to check for irregularities and inspecting protection devices and fire control equipment. The Security Officer preserves order and may enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises. Employees are held accountable for successful job performance and are required to know and follow safe work practices, as well as company policies and procedures related to job safety.

  • Controls access to the client site or facility through the admittance process.
  • Assists visitors with a legitimate need to gain entry to the facility.
  • Screens visitors and client employees efficiently to expedite their admittance.
  • Provides a courteous, respectful, and pleasant interaction with each client employee and visitor.
  • Communicates openly and honestly in all situations.
  • Monitors entrances and exits to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry.
  • Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle, checking for unsafe conditions and security violations.
  • Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents or emergencies.
  • Prepares logs or reports as required for the site.
  • Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
  • Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, and other emergencies.
  • Ensures that all property removal is conducted within appropriate policy requirements.
  • Carries out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required.
  • United States citizenship preferred.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain any specific special clearances/access requirements.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Related experience preferred.
  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks.
  • Must meet certification requirements for Basic Life Support CPR/AED and First Aid.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to provide high quality customer service.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels.
