About The Position

As a Security Officer - Factory Patrol in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet and assist employees and visitors, communicate clearly, and document observations while supporting site procedures. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Alarm panel experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
CPR certification is preferred.
Access control/badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, warehouses, exterior perimeter, parking areas, and common spaces to help identify suspicious activity, unsecured doors, and unusual conditions.
Monitor alarms, cameras, and other systems when assigned, and respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while coordinating with site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, verifying authorization for employees, contractors, and delivery drivers, and maintaining visitor, vehicle, and key logs per site requirements.
Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate security-related information during shift briefings and passdowns.
