About The Position

The Security Officer at The Guthrie Clinic is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the clinic's buildings and assets for patients, employees, and visitors. This role involves routine patrolling of the premises, responding to assistance requests, and maintaining a visible presence to deter security concerns. The position requires flexibility in work location and hours, with a focus on effective communication and collaboration with clinic staff.

Requirements

• NYS registration as a security guard is required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• High School Diploma or equivalency required; further educational degree preferred.
• One or more years' experience in Security, Law Enforcement, or Corrections.
• Experience in effectively interacting with people and excellent communication skills.
• Must successfully obtain certification in CPR and de-escalation within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Patrol buildings and grounds to ensure safety and security.
• Respond to requests for assistance from building occupants.
• Maintain good communication with building practice directors, managers, and office supervisors.
• Complete detailed reports of incidents occurring during work shifts.
• Conduct interior and exterior rounds, remaining vigilant for security or safety concerns.
• Assist with overall facility safety, including participation in fire drills.
• Exhibit initiative in performing all duties and assist co-workers as needed.
• Maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance while on duty.
• Complete all required safety and security training on an annual basis.
• Act in a courteous and friendly manner toward patients, visitors, and employees.
