About The Position

Under general direction, directs the facility’s safety and protection services and oversees facility investigations. Serves as a working supervisor to lower-level security staff. Travels in the performance of duties.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school.
  • Requires two (2) years supervisory experience in safety and protection service or investigative work.
  • Requires the ability to physically restrain individuals as necessary to prevent injury to individual or others.
  • Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
  • Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties.
  • Requires possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Requires the ability to obtain and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of experience working with security requirements and regulations for a public or private organization.
  • Five (5) years of experience directing the daily operations of a Security Department for a public or private organization.
  • Five (5) years of experience working with emergency response procedures including fire safety and controls for a public or private organization.
  • Three (3) years of experience supervising and training staff.
  • Three (3) years of experience formulating security regulations and emergency response plans consistent with regulations and directives.
  • Three (3) years of experience communicating effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the facility’s safety and protection services and oversees facility investigations.
  • Serves as a working supervisor to lower-level security staff.
  • Prepares typed investigatory packages upon the completion of investigations.
  • Coordinates and corresponds with law enforcement agencies and facility personnel regarding security activities, investigations, and rules.
  • Assigns staff to transport individuals to hospitals, workshops or other off-ground activities.
  • Inspects the buildings and grounds for fire and safety hazards.
  • Coordinates the facility Emergency/Disaster Plans within the facility and outside agencies.
  • Performs other duties as required which are reasonably within the scope of those duties enumerated above.
