About The Position

Under general direction, directs the facility’s safety and protection services and oversees facility investigations. Serves as a working supervisor to lower-level security staff. Travels in the performance of duties.

Requirements

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school.
Requires two (2) years supervisory experience in safety and protection service or investigative work.
Requires the ability to physically restrain individuals as necessary to prevent injury to individual or others.
Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays.
Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties.
Requires possession of a valid driver’s license.
Requires the ability to obtain and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.

Nice To Haves

Five (5) years of experience working with security requirements and regulations for a public or private organization.
Five (5) years of experience directing the daily operations of a Security Department for a public or private organization.
Five (5) years of experience working with emergency response procedures including fire safety and controls for a public or private organization.
Three (3) years of experience supervising and training staff.
Three (3) years of experience formulating security regulations and emergency response plans consistent with regulations and directives.
Three (3) years of experience communicating effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Directs the facility’s safety and protection services and oversees facility investigations.
Serves as a working supervisor to lower-level security staff.
Prepares typed investigatory packages upon the completion of investigations.
Coordinates and corresponds with law enforcement agencies and facility personnel regarding security activities, investigations, and rules.
Assigns staff to transport individuals to hospitals, workshops or other off-ground activities.
Inspects the buildings and grounds for fire and safety hazards.
Coordinates the facility Emergency/Disaster Plans within the facility and outside agencies.
Performs other duties as required which are reasonably within the scope of those duties enumerated above.
