As a Security Officer specializing in access control at a leading chemical and petrochemical location, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring and controlling entry points, conducting routine patrols, and remaining visible throughout the assigned area to help to deter security-related incidents. You will interact with employees, visitors, and contractors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication. This position may require driving as part of your daily duties.

Requirements

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must possess a valid TSA issued TWIC credential.
• A valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located is required for driving positions only.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the location, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering or exiting restricted areas.
• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues when necessary.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards.
• Document and report any suspicious activity, security-related incidents, or irregularities discovered during patrols or while monitoring access points.
• Collaborate with on-site personnel and Allied Universal management to address security-related concerns and maintain a secure environment within the chemical or petrochemical location.
• Assist with emergency response activities, including following evacuation procedures and supporting first responders as needed.
