About The Position

As a Security Officer - Chemical Access Gate in La Porte, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible, and communicate with site personnel and visitors. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required. Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
A Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) issued by TSA is required.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
Monitor and control access to restricted areas within the chemical and petrochemical location, verifying credentials and logging all entries and exits.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the location.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
Communicate with site personnel and visitors to provide information regarding access control procedures and site policies.
Report and document any unusual incidents, security-related breaches, or hazards encountered during patrols or access control duties.
Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and site management to address security-related concerns and maintain a secure environment for all personnel.
