About The Position

As a Security Officer - Chemical Access Badge in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal in a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, help to deter security-related incidents, and support a secure environment. You will conduct routine patrols, manage access points, and interact with visitors and staff, providing exceptional customer service. This position requires a valid driver's license, as driving responsibilities are part of the role.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Applicants must have 1 or more years of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of security supervisor or manager experience or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicants with access control or badge experience are preferred.
  • Applicants who are comfortable using a computer or tablet are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access points to help to deter unauthorized entry into the chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Verify identification and credentials of individuals entering or exiting the premises in accordance with site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Assist with visitor management, including logging and badging, to support security-related protocols.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity or security-related incidents to Allied Universal management and/or site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter security-related risks, noting any irregularities or hazards.
  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by answering questions and offering directions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all access control activities, incidents, and patrols as required by Allied Universal and client guidelines.
