As a Security Officer - Checkpoint Screener in Escondido, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy healthcare location as a Screener, where you will greet patients, visitors, and staff while supporting access control and other security-related entry procedures. You will remain highly visible, communicate clearly, and help identify concerns early while providing a welcoming customer service experience. Requirements

  • Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Handcuffing certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, screening protocols, and security-related policies at a healthcare location.
  • Conduct entry screening activities such as directing foot traffic, confirming visitor authorization, checking identification and/or badges, and monitoring for prohibited items in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification of clinical staff, management, and/or emergency responders as appropriate.
  • Complete required documentation such as incident reports, activity logs, and screening records, and communicate relevant information during shift handoff.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of designated interior areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
