About The Position

As a Security Officer Site Patrol Examiner in La Crescenta, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in an education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, support access control activities, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. Requirements

A guard card or license is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, campus concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting and reporting observations according to location protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout school buildings, parking areas, athletic spaces, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directing foot traffic during arrival, dismissal, and special events, and report unusual behavior or conditions to site contacts.
Support Allied Universal standards by communicating with school personnel and/or first responders when needed, while maintaining awareness of changing conditions across the location.
