As a Security Officer Bus Station Hub in Hamden, CT, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $22.55 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeSat07:00 AM - 03:00 PM How This Role Works: Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by following site-specific procedures and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or unusual conditions in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site contacts and/or public responders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit-related buildings, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, public areas, and/or restricted locations, reporting suspicious behavior, maintenance issues, hazards, and/or policy violations in accordance with post orders.
  • Support access control and public assistance functions by verifying authorized entry, providing directions, and documenting daily activities, incidents, and/or observations in required reports.
