About The Position

As a Security Officer - Building Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and provide strong customer service and communication. You will document activity, respond to requests, and support day to day operations with an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by following site-specific procedures and policies at a government facility, and when appropriate, supporting emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed foot patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
Monitor access points and verify credentials, manage visitor check-in and/or escorts as required, and help to maintain orderly public areas.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, and coordinate notifications to site representatives and/or public emergency services when needed.
Complete detailed shift logs and incident reports, communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts, and support security-related operations including key control and/or property checks as assigned.
