Job Description As a Security Guard - Unarmed Perimeter Patrol in Philadelphia, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic education location. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds on foot and/or by bike, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. Support access control processes, assist students, staff, and visitors with a service-first approach, and communicate clearly with site leadership and public service partners. Bring integrity, agility, reliability, innovation, and teamwork to every shift.
Requirements
- Be 21+ years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access points and control entry where assigned, verifying identification and/or authorization in accordance with post orders and campus policies.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating disputes and/or coordinating with campus officials and local responders as needed.
- Document patrols, incidents, and observations using written reports and/or electronic systems, and promptly communicate significant information to supervision and site contacts.
