Security Officer Part Time Bicycle Patrol

As a Part-Time Security Officer Part Time Bicycle Patrol in Canoga Park, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in various industries, including Retail/Malls. This role provides flexibility, allowing you to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using the Claim a Shift platform. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service. This position emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and integrity while requiring an active presence throughout the shift.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
Nice To Haves
- Handcuffing certification is preferred.
- Pepper spray certification is preferred.
- The ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and document relevant details according to site guidelines.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property, storefront areas, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help to deter unauthorized access, policy violations, and/or disruptive behavior while supporting a professional atmosphere.
- Communicate with property management, local contacts, and/or emergency responders as needed regarding security-related concerns, customer service issues, and incident activity.
