Job Description As a Security Officer - Badge Verification Desk in Columbia, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage entry points by checking credentials and visitor logs, supporting badge access, and using a computer and/or tablet for reporting. You will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related issues, while delivering welcoming customer service and clear communication. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Verify identification and authorization for entry, issue visitor credentials as required, and manage gate and/or lobby access points at a chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or access control systems, document unusual activity, and report concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to site leadership and/or public emergency services when appropriate.
  • Complete shift reports and access logs with accurate details, including visitor entries, deliveries, and contractor check-ins and/or check-outs per site requirements.
