Join Allied Universal at a utilities location where you will manage access control, greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, issue badges, and monitor entry points using a computer and/or tablet. You will perform routine patrols and visibility checks, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with site teams to help support smooth operations. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to client personnel and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, security-related policies, and/or emergency response activities.
  • Control entry and exit at gates and/or lobbies by verifying credentials, issuing temporary badges, managing visitor logs, and coordinating with site contacts for approvals.
  • Monitor access points, intrusion alarms, and/or video systems for irregular activity; document observations and report issues through established channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including support for utility operations and coordination with on-site staff and/or first responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including perimeter and restricted zones, checking doors, gates, and equipment areas for signs of tampering and/or unauthorized access.
