About The Position

As a Security Officer - Auto Patrol Driver in Normal, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Auto, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol an automotive location to help to deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence. Your visible patrols will help to maintain a secure environment, while your commitment to customer service and clear communication will support a positive experience for everyone on site. This is a driving post, offering the opportunity to be on the move and interact with a diverse team.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR certification is preferred.
The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
Experience in loss prevention is preferred.
Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity within the automotive location. Working environments and conditions may vary by site.
Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of all activities, incidents, and observations while on duty.
Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and/or law enforcement as needed, following established protocols.
Support access control measures by monitoring entry and exit points as directed by site-specific procedures.
