About The Position

The Security Officer assigned to the auto auction is responsible for maintaining site security while primarily working outdoors in a fast‑paced vehicle flow environment. This position focuses on verifying, checking in, and releasing vehicles while ensuring the safety of staff, customers, vendors, and property. The officer must be alert, efficient, and able to make quick, accurate decisions under pressure.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid state security officer license
  • Ability to remain alert and focused in a fast‑paced, high‑volume setting
  • Strong communication and observation skills
  • Ability to follow procedures precisely while working efficiently
  • Basic report writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to work outdoors for the majority of the shift
  • Ability to move quickly and safely around vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
  • A valid driver’s license is required for positions involving vehicle patrol or movement

Nice To Haves

  • Prior security, traffic control, or gate access experience
  • Experience working in auto auctions, vehicle yards, or logistics facilities
  • Familiarity with access control or vehicle tracking systems

Responsibilities

  • Control and monitor vehicle access at designated entry and exit points
  • Verify vehicle identification, lot numbers, auction credentials, and release documentation
  • Check vehicles in and out quickly and accurately in a high‑volume environment
  • Observe for suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations
  • Enforce site rules, safety procedures, and access control requirements
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, auction personnel, and management
  • Report incidents, accidents, or irregularities in a clear and timely manner
  • Provide professional customer service while maintaining authority and safety standards
