About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Corrections Patrol in Largo, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Corrections, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a corrections environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintain order. This position requires both armed and driving responsibilities. You will remain visible throughout the location, conduct routine patrols, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Must be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or possess equivalent experience.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Must have at least two years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate protocols for an armed patrol post.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols within the corrections location and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control and verify identification of individuals entering and exiting the location.
  • Support Allied Universal and client staff during emergency situations by following established procedures.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential disturbances or incidents within the corrections environment.
  • Document all incidents and observations in accordance with Allied Universal and client policies.
