Requirements

  • Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and communication with site contacts and/or first responders when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations, helping to identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, and/or potential hazards.
  • Monitor access to restricted areas and help to follow visitor, patient, and staff entry procedures in accordance with site expectations and healthcare-related protocols.
  • Maintain an armed presence in accordance with Allied Universal standards and post orders, documenting incidents and observations and reporting security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
