Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Vehicle Patrol in Surry, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and customer service. You will represent Allied Universal with integrity, teamwork, and a caring culture that puts people first, while staying agile, reliable, and innovative in day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; coordinate with site leadership and public responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards.
  • Control access points by verifying identification, monitoring visitor and vehicle entry, and observing for prohibited items and/or suspicious behavior in accordance with post orders.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs of patrols, incidents, and observations; communicate relevant updates through required radio and/or phone protocols.
