As a Security Officer - Armed - Hospital Patrol in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while providing excellent customer service and clear communication. This armed position requires you to conduct routine patrols, remain visible, and respond professionally to any security-related situations, all while upholding our values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity.

Requirements

Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
Act 235 qualification is required for positions in Pennsylvania.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
A valid firearms permit is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergencies as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using sound judgment and de-escalation techniques.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe for any unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and control entry to restricted areas as required for an armed post in an industrial location.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations during patrols.
Interact with employees, visitors, and/or contractors in a professional manner, providing assistance and information as needed.
Remain alert and prepared to respond to alarms and/or emergency situations, following established protocols for an armed post.
