Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to read, write and follow written or oral instructions.
• Previous security experience required.
• Must not have any felony convictions and have a phone.
• Must be certified by a recognized and Security Manager approved training personnel.
• Must satisfactorily complete firearm training, written test and qualify on the firing range.
• Firearms recertification must be performed annually.
• Must follow the Use of Force Policy and Procedures and sign off on the firearm affidavit.
• Must be able to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Certification or registration with the Louisiana State Board of Private Security examiners preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrols the interior and exterior grounds of the hospital to protect property and to assist in providing a safe environment for all patients, visitors, physicians and employees.
• Responds to all emergency situations and alerts local authorities when required.
• Monitors vehicle and pedestrian traffic on hospital property.
• Monitors visitors and issues passes after hours.
• Enforces and follows Security and St. Tammany Parish Hospital policy and procedures.
