Requirements

  • An Armed Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while following post orders and use-of-force guidelines for an armed assignment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and movement within assigned areas, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns, policy violations, and/or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support access control activities by verifying credentials, observing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and maintaining accurate logs, reports, and other required records in accordance with site procedures.
