Security Officer - Armed Warehouse
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Sentinel in Berkeley, MO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support employees and drivers with clear communication and customer service. You will verify access, respond to alarms and/or unusual activity, document observations, and work as part of a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and always acts with integrity.
Requirements
- Have 1+ years' armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
- Possess an armed guard card/license.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
- Possess baton certification, preferred, which may be completed post hire.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of warehouses, loading docks, trailer yards, and perimeter areas, checking for unusual conditions and helping to deter unauthorized activity.
- Control access at gates and/or entrances by verifying identification, monitoring inbound and outbound traffic, managing visitor sign-in processes, and directing drivers to designated areas per site procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, requesting law enforcement and/or medical support when needed, and coordinating with site leadership.
- Monitor cameras, alarms, and other systems as assigned, document observations, and complete detailed reports on patrols, incidents, and policy exceptions.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
