Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed State Capitol Patrol in Miami, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced government transit location as an armed patrol officer. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and deliver strong customer service and clear communication to riders and staff. Requirements

  • Have 3+ years’ combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Maintain a current Armed Guard Card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to the public and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of stations, platforms, vehicles, parking areas, and perimeter areas, observing for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter unwanted behavior.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, coordinating with transit staff and/or law enforcement, and assisting with scene control.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, check identification and/or credentials as required, and help manage orderly entry and exit during high-traffic periods and special events.
  • Complete detailed reports on incidents, patrol activities, and observations, and maintain required equipment and weapon readiness in accordance with Allied Universal policies and applicable laws and procedures.
