Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed State Capitol Patrol in Miami, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced government transit location as an armed patrol officer. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and deliver strong customer service and clear communication to riders and staff. Requirements

Have 3+ years’ combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
Maintain a current Armed Guard Card and/or license.
Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
Be at least 21 years of age.
A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to the public and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of stations, platforms, vehicles, parking areas, and perimeter areas, observing for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter unwanted behavior.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, coordinating with transit staff and/or law enforcement, and assisting with scene control.
Monitor access points and restricted areas, check identification and/or credentials as required, and help manage orderly entry and exit during high-traffic periods and special events.
Complete detailed reports on incidents, patrol activities, and observations, and maintain required equipment and weapon readiness in accordance with Allied Universal policies and applicable laws and procedures.
