Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Site Patrol in Tallahassee, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government education location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, manage access control points, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication. Requirements

  • Possess a valid armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Operate as an armed patrol post in accordance with post orders, applicable licensing requirements, and local laws and/or regulations; maintain control of issued equipment and report any issues.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document events and communicate updates to site leadership and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas at a government education location; identify unusual activity and report concerns through established channels.
  • Control access at designated entry points, verify identification and/or authorization, and direct visitors to the appropriate location while helping to deter unauthorized entry.
