As a Screener in a government location, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas. This is an armed position, where you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and provide outstanding customer service while communicating with staff and visitors. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, or military roles.
  • Possess an active armed guard card or license as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Screen individuals entering the location to help to deter prohibited items and/or unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Monitor entry points and verify identification and/or credentials as required by site protocols.
  • Communicate clearly with visitors, staff, and/or law enforcement personnel as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records and logs of screening activities and any incidents that occur.
  • Follow all Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines for screening and access control.
