As an Armed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document activity, and communicate clearly while providing strong customer service. Requirements

  • Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
  • Have at least 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by following site-specific security-related procedures, government facility policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points, including regular and random checks of doors, gates, loading areas, and restricted locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access control points by verifying identification, managing visitor entry, and directing foot and vehicle traffic in accordance with post orders and client requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting public emergency services as needed and providing clear updates to appropriate personnel.
  • Complete written and/or electronic reports, maintain required logs, and communicate unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns through the established chain of command.
