As an Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document activity, and communicate clearly with the public and site staff while delivering strong customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license. A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, transit-adjacent areas, and perimeter spaces to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, coordinating with on-site staff, and contacting public emergency services when needed.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials and/or authorization as required, and direct visitors to appropriate locations while following post orders.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations in daily activity reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate timely updates to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
