About The Position
As a Security Officer - Armed Retail Plaza Driver in Houston, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer at a busy retail location, where you will conduct vehicle and foot patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, customer-focused communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license and an armed post requiring an armed guard card and Level III armed certification. Requirements
- Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
- Be at least 21+ years of age.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas only.
- Have 5+ years of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to customers, associates, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail grocery and/or shopping center location.
- Perform armed patrol duties in accordance with licensing and post orders, maintaining proper firearm handling, retention, and storage practices while on duty.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, calling for medical assistance and/or law enforcement when needed, and completing required notifications.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout sales floors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter theft, trespassing, and other policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Complete timely incident reports, shift logs, and patrol documentation, and communicate observations and concerns to Allied Universal management and/or the client representative.
