About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Quincy, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, maintain a highly visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance. You will document observations, support access control as needed, and communicate clearly with staff, visitors, and public partners. Requirements

Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
Be at least 21+ years of age.
Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
Have customer service experience, preferred.
Have a state, county, or city issued security guard license, preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to staff and visitors at a government location by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and security-related policies and/or post orders.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or policy violations.
Monitor entry points, control access for employees, contractors, and guests, verify credentials as required, and maintain visitor and vehicle logs per site requirements.
Respond to alarms, disturbances, and other incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and/or local responders as directed.
Complete security-related reports and documentation, communicate observations to supervision, and maintain required equipment and firearm handling practices in accordance with company and site guidelines.
