About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Quincy, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, maintain a highly visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance. You will document observations, support access control as needed, and communicate clearly with staff, visitors, and public partners. Requirements

  • Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.
  • Have a state, county, or city issued security guard license, preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff and visitors at a government location by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and security-related policies and/or post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or policy violations.
  • Monitor entry points, control access for employees, contractors, and guests, verify credentials as required, and maintain visitor and vehicle logs per site requirements.
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, and other incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and/or local responders as directed.
  • Complete security-related reports and documentation, communicate observations to supervision, and maintain required equipment and firearm handling practices in accordance with company and site guidelines.
