As an Armed Patrol Professional with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents, and support entry screening and access control as needed. You will communicate with visitors and staff, document activities, and respond with calm professionalism. This is an armed post requiring an armed guard card/license, on a reliable, agile team that leads with integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to government location staff and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access requirements, and/or emergency response activities.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas on a regular and random basis to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor entry points, verify identification and/or credentials as required, and direct authorized personnel and visitors according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, notifications, and coordination with onsite personnel and/or public agency partners as directed.
  • Complete required reports, logs, and incident documentation, and communicate shift activity to Allied Universal management and/or site representatives.
