About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Saint Paul, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Prior Law Enforcement or Military experience required (Must be a Military Police or Combat Arms MOS)
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, yards, substations and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access, theft and/or damage.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and/or authorization, control vehicle entry and coordinate with site contacts regarding deliveries, contractors and work permits.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting additional resources and/or public responders when needed.
  • Complete detailed patrol logs, incident reports and shift documentation, and follow Allied Universal and site requirements for firearms handling, licensing and post orders.
