Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Full-Time in Ithaca, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer supporting a public service location. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to alarms and/or calls for service, and document observations with clear communication. Requirements

Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter.
Working environments and conditions may vary by site.
Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal training, licensing requirements, and post orders.
Complete security-related reports and documentation, including incident reports, patrol logs, and chain of custody records when applicable.
Control access by checking identification, monitoring entry points, and directing visitors and/or staff in accordance with site-specific policies.
Coordinate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed, and communicate timely updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
