About The Position
As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Unit in Newport News, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors and local authorities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, production areas, parking areas, and perimeter points to help identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, and/or potential hazards.
- Monitor entrances, gates, deliveries, and restricted areas while verifying credentials, inspecting packages or vehicles when required, and supporting security-related post orders.
- Carry authorized equipment in accordance with post responsibilities and Allied Universal standards, remaining prepared to respond to security-related concerns at the location.
